Hey All,

Happy New Year! Last time I posted I got some great advice so I thought I'd check back in with the folks who know what they are doing before I set my credit card on fire.

We're heading to London and Liverpool for my husband's birthday in November (it's a big one). Right now I've got three r/t PE tickets from LAX to LHR including hotel on reserve on Expedia for 8 days/7 nights currently at $6,587. I think this is a pretty fair rate - I've crunched the numbers booking miles & money and it actually comes out more if I book hotel and flight separately. I saw that I might be able to get the flight a little better if we book the trip with Virgin Vacations, but I don't think they have the hotel we want and I've heard some not great things about them.

The big question - should I wait for any deals in the next month or two?

So what's the consensus? Wait to book or go ahead and grab it ASAP?

Thanks!

The Expedia package deal shows airfare plus hotel together - no breakdowns - for $6,578 total.

To book the flight on Virgin using miles and money currently would be $4,423 plus $135 to transfer miles from my husband's account to mine for a total of $4,558 for three r/t PE tickets.

The hotel on Expedia was $2,139.

All of these are nonrefundable. I live dangerously.

You do not need to transfer your husbands miles into your account. He can phone vs and make you an authorised user and you'll be able to use them for your trip - as long as there are sufficient to 'pay' for at least one sector for one person that is.

But in essence if you are happy with the expedia price then go with it. Yes there could be a sale soon but your dates might not be included or if they are then it might not include PE.

Just don't go back and look once you have booked !

UPDATE: I haven't booked yet - however...

I saw that price just dropped from $6,578 to $5,891!

The seat is now a K code. Do you think it will stay like that for 24 hours or should I try and book it today?
