Hi guys ...
After getting 6a and 6k for our outbound flight when we booked at the realise day mark the flight has been changed and we have been moved to 11a and 12k ... Darn we have even been moved to the later arrival time when the immigration tends to be heaving ... Not happy
I called and the only other seat that they could offer would be 12a instead of 11a.

I understand that they can pull fights for operational reasons but then to put us no where near each other is annoying ... The CS girl just said to wait until checkin
What do you guys think ... Should I complain ?

Grab 12A instead of 12K giving you 11A and 12A, right next to each other.

As for complaining, if you aren't happy with the above and can't get anything at checkin sorted, then its maybe time to ask again. At the moment, it could change again (depending on how far the flight is away) so not really worth it in my opinion.

It's frustrating but that's one of the pitfalls of booking early. Aircraft and schedules can and do change. VS (and all airlines for that matter) make it very clear that seat requests are just that, requests, and are never guaranteed. And all airlines tinker with their schedules, the US carriers are notorious for it.

As David says go with 11A & 12A.

I would take 11 & 12A too. For a lot of people this is the preferred option to have adjacent seats on the same side.
Me, I would prefer 6A &6K, but stuff happens and as mentioned it is only a request.
I would complain, not in any expectation of getting what I want but in the hope of some miles towards my next flight.

Yep another that prefers the same side rather than opposite (I don't like 6a/k as they are too close!).

Thanks for the advice guys ... I've managed to get the seats changed to 11k and 12k this morning ... Tried all weekend but they said I would have to wait until to this morning.
Now there's only 12a left in the cabin
Guessing the VS73 was mega quiet as when I checked my original booking last week there was only 3 seats left in the cabin but now they've merged the flights there's now one seat left.
The lady on the phone was pretty abrupt and just said what do I expect them to call every person on the plane to tell them there's a change .. I said no but an email would be nice as I only noticed when I logged on my booking, she then went on to say that its the computer that gives the seats out and basically it's tough .. I then said I was offered 11k on Saturday and she complained a bit and said she would have to do the change manually ... Gotta say not the kind of service/attitude I'd expect.

Agreed - but for the record neither VS nor BA (nor, I suspect, most other airlines) will proactively alert you to a seat change.

If it matters where you sit, it's up to you to keep checking your booking. It could change again - particularly when OLCI opens.

Thanks Guys
Thanks for the replies. I think I am going to give feedback about the call but im not sure who to contact .. any ideas ?
Also I was checking regularly for changes to the flights and that was when I noticed the change ... gonna keep checking to as I really don't fancy moving on the return flight as at the minute have 7a 7k and hoping for a bit quiet time ;)

It's the same for most airlines bit to inform TBH.

We are booked on a BA/American code share from Dublin to PHL and Bach from URD to DUB.

Had booked our seats, but when I noticed that American had changed the aircraft in one of the legs from the 757 to the A330,(only noticed when checking the booking) I checked our seats were OK

My seat was ok, but my wife's and sons seats were still allocated the same seat numbers, but the rows don't exist on the A330.

If I hadn't noticed we would only gave found out at the airport, so it's not a virgin issue
