Only if you're Flying Club Gold, and if your ATL-MAN flight is the same day.

If you're not Au you'll only get lounge access at ATL.

Hmmmm, my experience differs. Last year I flew twice SFO to LAX on Delta and then LAX-LHR on VS upper class, had no problem using the Delta lounge in SFO and the VS lounge in LAX and, at the time, had no status on either airline.

Give it a try - I doubt the lounge agents at SAN see many connecting VS passengers as most UK travellers would use the direct BA flight or go from LAX - so you might be able to persuade them you're allowed in!

In September I flew MCO-ATL-LHR, same PNR/ticket, same day travel connecting onto an international flight, booked in Delta First and Virgin UpperClass. After a quick scan of my boarding pass by the lounge agents I was welcomed into the Delta Skyclub in both MCO and ATL with no problems.

and on my return trips LHR-LAX-SFO had no problem using the LAX Delta Sky lounge, no persuading required, all they were interested in seeing was a same day UC boarding pass. I believe Delta business first with a same day international business ticket(on delta or partner) qualifies under Delta Sky club rules of admission. Although one may question whether the LAX Delta lounge is a perk or a punishment.

Well it seems this is an unpublished benefit (or a mistake) because as far as I can see neither the VS nor DL websites mention it. The DL site lists it as a benefit for domestic passengers connecting to/from a DL international flight in the Delta One cabin or a SkyTeam international flight in business or first class - but no mention of VS.

http://www.delta.com/content/www/en_US/ ... terms.html

If it IS an official benefit it's a very useful one and VS really should be publicising it!
