As with ScoobySu, the FC have held M/G seats for me before (72 hours maximum) which I find useful whilst I ensure colleagues can cover for my absence from work. It is extremely useful.

If you decide not to take them uo you do not ned to call back, they will just open them up again after 72 hours unless you call and pay.

I thought it was officially only 24hrs that VS would put tickets on hold for? Maybe they allow a couple of days extra at holiday periods / weekends when you may have to wait a day or two to check for time off work?

I know back in November I put a G on hold for a friend for DXB-LHR. The call centre in Swansea would only put it on hold for 24hrs (I did call midweek).

As above, if you have tickets on hold & don't want them, there is no need to call back (unless you want to). The tickets just get released back into the system at the end of the hold period.

Last time I called on a Thursday morning and they held them until 9 pm Saturday evening. So about a 60 hour hold.

Never being one to rush into anything I called them back at 8 pm on Saturday evening to pay :-)

I had the same scenario, waiting for miles booster miles to post, and holding G's. As they did the miles booster transaction the agent was very happy to hold the flights for 72 hours while the miles posted.
