Hi,

I'm travelling PE to Cancun and UC on my return. I've read and heard the the lounge in Cancun is pretty poor, but not too worried about this.

To start our holiday off in style I'm thinking of a lounge at Gatwick. I've been quoted £110 for my wife and I think it is for access to the clubhouse (I have asked for confirmation!). I think the V-Room is cheaper, so have contacted them direct to ask.

My question is, what's the difference, is it really worth it? Does the clubhouse have views of the runway?

Thanks in advance
Neil

The CH has a more extensive range of food, table service, no charge for drinks and free ( and paid) treatments available in the spa. For two adults, and on a CH vs VRoom choice, the CH would win out for me.

To be honest I can't remember about the view. When are you going, as the CH is due to move to the North Terminal along with VS operations at Gatwick next January and so the view will change.

Have you booked your trip with VH? I think the V Room is only available for VH customers.

That's right. The Gatwick V-room closed last Saturday 6th February and it states on VH website that its will reopen on 24th January 2017 (in the North terminal I assume!)

When we have flown PE from Gatwick we have used the No1 Lounge.
There is some quite good seating upstairs although it can get crowded.

if you can get LGW CH for 110 for the two of you then take it, get there as early as possible (with paid entry there may be a maximum allowed time)

book your spa treatments on arrival, choose a table, get the first bubblies, have brekkie, more bubbly

retire to comfy chairs, keep taking the bubbly, just listen out for your flight being called!
