Hi, can anyone clarify if you get 1 mile per £1 spent after return of holiday when booking is made through Virgin holidays?I have received my base flown miles but no others.
I have contacted who I booked with ( at virgin store in supermarket) who said contact flying club,I tried flying club they said virgin Atlantic, they said Virgin holidays! After days of calls and e.mails I am awaiting e.mail reply from virgin holidays!!I always assumed that these would be automatically added and only recently checked, Flying club told me the flight previous to the last one was only showing base flown miles aswell.Seeing as we book at least one long haul holiday with vh a year I hope I've not been missing out?

Hey,

Yes - you should get 1 mile per £1 spent if you are a Red card holder, as well as the miles for your flights. I did a holiday with VH at the end of last year and the miles did eventually post by themselves. How long has it been since your holiday? The general rule of thumb I try and live by is to give it a month or so before I claim, as some partners take longer than others.

If you check this handy little document (found on the VS website)....

...there is a section for claiming miles for Virgin Holidays :)

Thanks for reply slimpy Jones, I returned on 31st Dec , but when I phoned flying club they said that I only received the base miles on my trip back in March aswell, so don't know if I have ever been given the vh ones.
I did see the claim miles section but wondered if that was just for claiming base miles flown?

the rules for earning points on VH bookings are set out here...

http://www.virgin-atlantic.com/gb/en/fl ... idays.html

if you booked in a store and had been an FC member for at least a month at the time then you should be ok

i haven't used VH for a while now, but i remember they once 'lost' my FC number from a booking, i had to nag a bit to get the points but they arrived in the end

Nah, that's for claiming the miles for the booking itself. I'd go ahead and contact the email address on the form and see if that gets you anywhere! I'd say for Dec 31st they should have posted by now. For what it's worth, I would double check your history - when mine posted they were dated back to the outbound flight and not on the actual date I purchased the holiday.

O.k had an e-mail reply yesterday and it seems that as there was a discount on the holiday I booked I'm not eligible for virgin holiday miles ,only the base flown from Virgin Atlantic! You would think the virgin store I booked this with would of known this or could of found out for me, taken me quite a few calls and e-mails to get this answer.Seems a bit mean to me, didn't get a reply r.e why they were missing from previous holidays but I give up!!
Will be booking my flights and accomodation myself from now on.
