I've just booked our ATL-MCO transfers for Christmas and have also got a transfer from LAX to MCO in July. It's $25 per bag ( we normally have four on the Christmas trip!) and as we're in UC for both trips are likely to have more than one suitcase each! There are three of us travelling so the baggage fees will soon mount up.

Is there anyway that UK residents can apply for the Delta gold card which gives one free checked bag? Guess I'm stuck with the baggage fees but can't complain as the ATL fights were booked on miles.

Are you Gold status with VS? The "one free bag" benefit applies to Delta I believe. Also - have you booked First/Business (I never know which one they use...) for the Delta trips? I'm sure the baggage allowance is three free bags.

Delta don't have a credit card in the UK so that route won't work I'm afraid unless someone knows a cunning work round!

If you're in First or Business Class you'll get two free bags included. And as Slimpy says if you're VS Gold you get a free baggage allowance.

If you're in Economy and aren't VS Gold I fear you'll have to pay - $25 for the first bag, $35 for the 2nd as set out here: http://www.delta.com/content/www/en_US/ ... ecked.html
