Hi All,

Sorry if this has been answered before, I don't have time to trawl through the forum and need a quick answer on behalf of a friend.

She is trying to look at reward seats from Vegas to Manchester but no option to pay with miles is coming up. I saw on the FC website that this route is in the table for miles redemption so wondering what the issue is? Will she have to call up FC to get reward seats booked?

And if they can be booked, does anyone know what the availability is like, she is looking for flights in August I think (Vegas - Manchester and then return from Gatwick to Vegas).

This issue has surfaced before on that route - it appears to be a bug in the system so yes your friend will need to call FC.

You haven't mentioned which cabin she's after but in UC there's a decent chance of finding availability on the LAS-MAN leg as during the summer VS uses an A330 on that route, which probably has more UC capacity than they need. Economy might be harder as there's less capacity than on a 747.

The LGW-LAS leg will be on a 747 which only has 14 UC seats, making reward availability much harder to come by (though by no means impossible as long as you check daily). Economy, on the other hand, is a huge cabin so might be easier.

The VS site won't allow you to select anything other than MONEY on the route LAS to MAN. The option SPEND YOUR MILES shows - sorry Flying Club miles cannot be used for this route. The option for MILES PLUS MONEY shows the same message. As per gumshoe's post above, your friend will have to call FC.

It will allow you to select the MILES option on LGW to LAS but not MILES PLUS MONEY.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I'll pass the info on.

Shame she doesn't actually have enough miles just yet for x2 returns I was trying to convince her to book at least one way flight yesterday to take advantage of the sale.

She will be looking preferably at PE, but may have to stick to EC if she doesn't accrue enough miles in the next few months! She is only just getting into the whole miles collecting hobby and has just promised her mum she would get her flight for her too - lol
