Hi,

Apologies if this has been discussed before, I have been filling in my API and had a look at the upgrade section in my booking and as you probably all know there is the option to bid for an upgrade. I am currently in UC going out but EC coming home but would like to experience PE on the return.

So my questions are: is PE worth a bid and does anyone have an thoughts on how much a PE upgrade is worth (I know there're many moving parts to the last question).

For example a bid of £225 is rated as good, while £180-220 is fair. I think i'd be happy paying 225 for an upgrade especially as it is an 11 hour flight.

Also and as a side note, are the PE seats ok for tall people, my OH is 6'3. We are currently in the bubble in the exit row in economy. Should we just stay there or place a bid?

Thanks

Mark

I would save your money. The exit row seats in the bubble are fantastic and my OH is 6 ft 2 - he loved the full stretch, no seat in front of him reclining and not disturbing anyone when he needed to get up, and also first choice on food.

as above, the exit row in the bubble has massive leg room, maybe 2 metres, i had a great night flight in this row a few years ago, my best EC sleep ever (aside from nitrazepam assisted flights to goa)

there is a bit of traffic from people coming to stretch their legs, but even then there is plenty of space and the bubble always seems peaceful compared to the main cabin

the only real quibble is that the seats are a bit narrower due to the tray table etc. stowing in the armrest, and unlike a normal EC seat there's no option to flip up the armrest between you for a bit of extra space

so tall is fine, but for tall+wide i'd put in a bid for PE, especially if it's a day flight
