Hi looking to book next April (easter school hols) ...having looked at Virgin holidays they are offering fly drives £1624 for PE each or 1 week at the Cosmopolitan (one bedroom fountain terrace) for £6250 in total
As this is peak season....would it be better to book now at that price or wait for seat releases at the 11 month mark. Not sure how the dollar rate will affect prices.
Hubby's 50th so he wants to be there for those dates and prefer direct flights
Any thoughts or advice?

We've been to the Moon Palace...lovely hotel, you'll have a great time. We are trying the Excellence PM this year.
Like you, we have a time window..being Easter I don't know if doing it DIY will be any cheaper...There's a convention on my hubbys birthday at the Mandalay for 19500 people so imagine that may affect hotel prices?

Unfortunately yes it does - we were in Vegas last April and our first two days (14th & 15th April) the National Association of Broadcasters Convention with 98,000 attendees was in town! Our room rate at Bellagio varied from $ 280 to $ 124 a night (excluding taxes & resort fees!) :-O

For our trip this May I currently have three nights at Aria totalling $350 and two nights at Mirage totalling $ 326 - again excluding taxes, resort fee and the new car parking fee >-( . The reason for the spike for the two night booking is that the Billboard Awards are on at MGM on the 22nd.

I believe its only the MGM group of hotels, so if yours is in that group then yes. They have been discussions on some other boards about this parking fee. As the MGM group also brought in resort fees a few years back most of the other hotels followed. We will just see how this parking fee goes.

I am wondering if you can come and go during the day/night on the one fee day paid and if there is a discount for say a weekly ticket, as otherwise it could amount to a lot. I have heard it depends on which hotel you are at the lower the rating it will be in the region of $5 a day at the higher stars then $10 or $15. We are back this time before it comes in but will try and find out for our trip later in the year. I believe it starts on 1st April.
