I hope this is the right section to post in! We're going to Beijing soon and are flying to Shanghai with VS and then looking at getting short connecting flights with China Eastern (MU). I called yesterday to book the flights and although VS have a codeshare agreement with MU, they have to wait for flight requests to be verified. The flights have now been pending for over 24 hours with no change, so we can't book. I have spoken to three different FC AU helpline members and all have told me slightly different things. One said that if pending for more than 24 hours it means an airline will definitely not confirm and that it's worth trying different times on the connecting flights, one had no idea and the other said it could still be confirmed if I wait another 24 hours. Does anyone here have any experience with this? Thank you :)

Just to say that as the flights with MU were never confirmed, we tried a different routing via HKG with VS and connecting flights with Air China. The flights were confirmed immediately and we've booked! The FC agent was insanely helpful, I spoke to her once yesterday and twice today and she went above and beyond to help me get the right booking. I will be leaving positive feedback :)

Great news, and again shows the disparity in what the VS agents know, but please you got it sorted.

Bretty, thanks so much! Yes, one of the other agents told me the cost would be over £6,000 for the two of us in PE :O Which was way over the budget the company would allow. I was really disheartened and had almost given up, but called back and asked to be put through to the other agent. She sorted it in 45 seconds and got the price down to a very reasonable £2,150. I've left glowing feedback!!

Yes!! I have latent guilt for not having done TRs for my last two or three VS trips! I really ought to do so as the last two were out of MAN and there aren't too many from there :) I have to say that although my OH isn't too fussed about the CH, I am pretty excited about this trip as we'll get to use it for the first time in about 8 months.

Edit: I have a potentially stupid question to add. I am pretty sure the answer is "no", but wanted to check. Our departing CA flight is a codeshare with VS and is in the same terminal as the VS CH. Is there any chance we'd be entitled to CH access, or is it reserved only for customers departing on the VS flight?
