Good price on a Z fare. No changes permitted, but very cheap.
Looks like they've reintroduced the super-cheap Z fares to many ex-MAN destinations they had on last week (see viewtopic.php?f=4&t=292665). They were only around for a day so act fast!
What month (s) were they showing for?
I was looking last night at various dates in June & the fares were there... £720 or thereabouts for the outbound leg & £502 or thereabouts for the inbound. (Don't you just love APD, not!)
Just looked again and the fares are back up to normal levels. Simply-Jones above was clearly right about these fares, i.e. there yesterday, gone today.
Half wish I had booked now - but can wait until November to ride Mako at SeaWorld.

The fare seemed to be available most months to multiple destinations. I saw April, May June, September, October. I booked Vegas for New Year at the same price. The fares were there till about half an hour ago and then they disappeared as quickly as they came!
I was looking at August and November this morning and couldn't see any good prices, but perhaps I just missed them! Will have to keep looking at these though. Would be worth the extra travel to Manchester!
MAN>MCO via ATL in J was showing right up to the end of the year yesterday at that same cost as well, which incidentally, was identical to the Premium Economy fare price.

Perhaps that was where I was going wrong, I was trying to see direct flights.
I have just booked today through Expedia for 11th-26th August, although travelling MAN-ATL-JAX (as we are kicking off our stay in St Augustine).
In fact, we got a better deal (£1,134 each) as we got a discount for a car rental on the same booking, which actually worked out less than the cost of the flights alone!!!
As noted above, this fare was around £100pp cheaper than PE for the same flights.

It looks like this latest mega-discount is to price match United. Many ex-MAN destinations in Z going for just under £1,200.
Tampa via ATL still available this morning for £1157 return. MAN-ATL Virgin Upper, ATL-TPA in Delta First

I've found it as low as £1133 using Expedia, which also means avoiding those pesky VS credit card fees too.

Some crazy prices on Expedia
MAN to ATL in Upper £2650
MAN to TPA in Upper £1100 but the flight route is MAN to ATL with virgin (same flight as above) and then ATL to TPA with Delta .
Knew I should have booked last week - Ahhhhh !!

Manchester to Seattle in November is showing for below £1200 return, mix of Virgin Atlantic and Delta flights.
Trying to convince my other half that we really should take advantage for their birthday.

Just been looking at again at flights from Manchester, to Austin. Prices are excellent, but I notice that, when you select your flight times and then go to the next page. It isn't stated what class the Delta leg is in, though it does say that the VS leg is UC. Any thoughts? How can you know for sure what class the Delta leg is?
I assume you are using the Delta site . If you select your outbound and inbound flights it shows on the trip summary screen. All the domestic legs I've checked are shown as F
Quick question. I think I know answer but just checking. I'm tempted by Tampa via Atlanta. Does the virgin baggage entitlement for upper carry thru to the flight from Atanta to Tampa leg?
In the return journey will we be able to check in at Tampa all the way to Manchester rather than collecting in Atlanta?
Thanks v much

Yes the baggage allowance carries through and yes you can check bags all the way on the return. You'll also have Delta lounge access at Tampa and Atlanta should your connection time allow

No, I was looking at the Virgin site. On the page where you choose your flight time and price, it shows as UC and Delta One, but when you go to the next page, to input passenger details, it shows flights as Virgin UC, but just 'operated by Delta' for the Delta leg.
Hence my uncertainty....
My goodness, I just had mother look for the same route and it's dropped overnight, now showing as £2105 for two people. Which is another reason why I'm wondering if the internal flight is Delta's equivalent of UC.....
Sorry, I know so little about Delta...
Yes, Z fares to Tampa now coming in as low at £1033 again via ATL from MAN today.
Expedia is still around £20 less than booking direct with VS.

Delta's (internal) First class is kinda like Virgins old Upper seats - big comfy seats with plenty leg room, but not much else. No lounge access, (unless your are transferring from an Upper flight) a free bar and a few nibbles to eat - you might get some kind of light meal depending on time / destination, but its definitely not Upper Class

You might get a screen or an overhead screen and possibly wifi, but for an hour or two when connecting, its fine.

On the Virgin site, if you go as far as passenger details and click on Fare breakdown at the bottom, all the legs are showing as Z fare..so you're all good - Upper/First all the way - bargain !
Brilliant - thank you very much!
Still some cheap flights on expedia, I've just got Manchester - Fort Myers via Atlanta in upper for £995 each including car hire. It was cheaper to add the car hire on for some reason.
Fare code ZMGMA has been posted which offers some fantastic value to MAN - USA.
