Yep, your boarding pass should be printed with "Sky Priority" which will give you access to priority boarding. I've not had a chance to use the additional bag perk - I'd suggest showing them your gold card in case they question it, but I believe it's one additional bag free of charge. The only thing you won't be able to use though are the Sky Clubs, as these require a same-day transatlantic sector on your ticket. That being said, depending on where you're going from some aren't worth crying tears over.

This page should explain all the perks you're entitled to :)

Thanks for the reply. I will have a look. Initially was not meant to be part of the travelling party from Jfk to Tpa but got some free time to join. (They come in to JFK the day before on BA) . My US colleague has either silver or gold medallion status and was saying he can get 1st back checked free for up to 8 in his booking as well as priority boarding security etc which I was wondering if applied to VA gold.

On a similar subject how does a VS Gold opt in for a complimentary Comfort+ upgrade?

"Access to preferred seating
For from travel May 16, 2016 - Flying Club Gold members opted in for a complimentary Delta Comfort+ upgrade will receive complimentary access to Delta Comfort+ subject to availability on the day of departure. Members will be placed in a queue on the airport standby listing for an upgrade prior to departure for flights on or after May 16, 2016"

This is a very confusing topic for me at the moment. I have a DL flight in late May - Delta on Twitter tell me that VS Gold are eligible for a complimentary upgrade within 72 hours. Delta on the phone tell me information to the contrary, and that even a cash upgrade on the day would not be available as they'd have to reprice and reissue my ticket as it would involve a change in fare class.
I've even called VS to see if they can upgrade me but they cannot. There's also nothing on the website that I can find that allows me to opt in to an upgrade. Perhaps this only becomes available at T-72 hours?

I'll see if any kind of upgrade becomes available within 72 hours, and if not what flexibility there is on the day and report back here.

Just a quick update - after contacting DL on Twitter they were able to request the Comfort+ upgrades for me. There's nothing on my booking on the DL site to reflect this, but if you're Twitter-inclined it might be worth a try Mojojo :)

I have flown Delta domestically as a VS AU. This is my understanding of it: In the past you were able to select Comfort+ at the time of booking, free of charge. I know this is the case as I have done it before.

At some point that changed to only being able to select it free of charge at T-72. This was the case earlier this month when I flew Delta from JFK - DEN. At the T-72 hour mark I went into my booking and the option to move into a Comfort+ seat for no additional charge had become available. I was travelling with my husband & 2 children and there were only a variety of single seats scattered around the comfort+ section so I opted not to move any of us.

As of 16 May the option to pre-select Comfort+ for VS AU at T-72 will end and that is when presumably you become part of the queue on the airport standby listing for the upgrade. I think the "opt-in" they are referencing happens during check-in. When I checked in online for my flights, one of them gave me the option of being put on the list for comfort+ (which I declined so I could stay seated with my family). The other flight, which was completely full, did not ask me this during the check-in process.

I don't know if this helps at all, but those have been my experiences. MoJoJo it may be that at T-72 you will be able to select (if available) comfort+ free of charge for your outbound flight as it will be before 16 May.

Thanks Stars

I finally got an answer from VS on Twitter. Prior 16 May you select the seat on DL website if its available. After 16 May its handled at airport.after 16 May it is actioned on the day of departure by the airport again subject to availability.

I will wait to T-72 and see what happens!

Cheers for the update Mojojo, I might see if waving a few dollars in Delta's face when I drop my bags off might secure me a bit of extra room so that I don't have to line up with the other DL medallions competing for the seats...!

You'll probably be in with a decent shot. I've always found Americans aren't accustomed to paying actual money for upgrades so the First Class and extra legroom seats are often empty until they start dishing them out for free to elites at the gate.

Last time I paid for an exit row seat on JetBlue I was the sole occupant of the row and the CC seemed positively surprised to see me!

Just got confirmation from FC on UA benefits on Delta

Flying Club Gold benefits with Delta Airlines are:

• Priority Check in
• Priority Baggage
• 1 Extra Bag (however maximum allowance in Business Class is 3 pieces)
• Priority Security
• Priority Boarding
• Individual access to any of Delta's Sky Clubs (must have a connecting transatlantic sector to/from in the UK within the itinerary, when travelling in Economy Class e.g. ATL-JFK-LHR permitted/ATL-JFK not permitted).
• Access to preferred seating – bulkhead, window and aisle towards the front of the cabin
• Delta Comfort + - Members can select a Delta Comfort + seat 72 hours prior to departure – available until 16 May 2016 only
• Delta Comfort + - From 16 May 2016 members will receive a complimentary access to Delta Comfort + subject to availability on the day. Members will be placed in a queue on the airport standby list. Available on flights from 16 May 2016
• Complimentary standby upgrade to First Class on DL US domestic network (excluding DL flights offering Delta's Business Elite product and travel between New York/JFK and Los Angeles, San Francisco or Seattle).
• Access to the Delta arrivals lounge at Terminal 3, Heathrow

Space available upgrades are actioned by the airport staff on the day.

As VS AU, what are my options for accessing Delta SkyClubs on a purely domestic F booking? I've fairly chunky layovers at both ATL and LAX (same ticket, same day). From what I can see, the only option would be two one-time visit passes @ $59ea (which doesn't seem worth it). Is it optimistic to ask if my gold status affords me any discounts?

It's not so much a downgrade to the VS perk specifically, it's a knock on to changes that DL have made to Comfort+ bookings. They're basically trying to market it as a class of its own. The DL section of Flyertalk has some quite salty threads about it.

You can ask but be prepared for a no.

If you've got Amex Platinum that would get you in to DL's lounges. Otherwise I suspect it's pay as you go.

FWIW DL have upped their game food-wise recently - they now put on a semi-decent spread by US lounge standards (think soup, Mac 'n' Cheese, sandwiches, salad, dips etc). So $59 isn't horrendous if you've got a long layover, particularly at LAX which is one of America's less appealing airports.

It's only ever happened to me the once - on an SLC-LAS leg last summer. I was actually the only name on the list bizarrely. Looking ahead to my DTW-DEN trip on Friday, only 3 out of 25 Comfort+ seats remain, something tells me they'll be all snapped up by then.
