Shared Lounge @ LAS

Really looking forward to my first UC flight this Friday on the 44, I have heard a lot of negative reports on this lounge, is it worth a go or should I give it a miss?

Depends what you're after - as a place to relax it was good I thought. If you're looking for somewhere to get fed and watered I'd say there's much better alternatives out there. Soup was nice though, as were the staff.

Decent snacks (soup, sandwiches, crudités etc) but windowless and a very bland, corporate look (think Servisair at LHR T1 if you ever had the misfortune of using that).

So not dreadful but certainly no Clubhouse. And gets very busy if VS have two flights and BA has its early flight.

Usually very good cocktails and the staff are friendly but room nothing to get excited about. Food limited but decent quality.

We used it in March. Wasn't terrible. Pretty much as the others have put .Right next door to the smoking lounge which puts it quite high up on my list.

Spent about half an hour once. Was a bar service. Can't remember anything they called food.

I had spent the previous hour in the Amex Centurion lounge, free to platinum amex customers, a tram ride, and 4 minute walk away. Good food, champagne, staff which don't look as if they were going to spit in your drink when your back is turned.

So if you can, go to amex lounge.

It depends what you after, if its somewhere away from the main concourse and some nibbles and drinks then its more than adequate.
Coffee is really nice, lots of free water in ice, lots of oreos and some half decent sandwiches, lots of crisps and a bar service with some good spirits . It can get very busy so try and get there as early as possible if you want a seat. I have been in some other business lounges which have not been as half as good, expect little and anything else is a bonus.

Hope you have a good flight home and enjoy UC, as everyone else says once you have tried it then its the start of expensive trips nothing else will do. Linda

Following what Smid says, the LAS Centurion Lounge is fantastic - in my opinion the best (non Clubhouse!) lounge of any I've been to in the USA. Free entry with Amex Plat, including up to two guests.

I guess everyone reaps benefits in different ways but, even if the annual fee was significantly more, I'd still pay for it.

For us the benefits we derive each year cover the fee by a very long way. Also, the insurance policy, in my humble opinion, is one of the best around - especially when it comes to ease of claiming

Think its just 300 for the business one still.

Priority pass x 2 has been very good for me.
Car insurance cover overseas has saved money.
Since its business, I don't buy trips on it, so I don't get chance to use travel insurance. That might be worth something to you. Very good insurance apparently.
Hilton gold was not bad, think back. Got a bit out of accor status (but disappearing), free drinks and ibis and novotels, and of course always get the lounge at sofitel t5.
Eurostar lounge for the personal amex, though I've only been refused from Paris one when I've shown business one.
Amex lounges in a few places. They are nice though....
Think Delta lounges too in the US, but never visited one and I don't expect much from them.
