Anyone have any thoughts on this....
We were looking at:
MAN-MCO using all miles (50K) , an internal Delta flight SRQ-ATL as a paid flight, and ATL-MAN using all miles (40K).

FC that this can not be all on one ticket which I had thought was a good idea to protect us against any problem with the Delta flight not getting us to ATL on time.
Actually there is a 3.36hour layover so there shouldnt be a problem but if these flights were on one ticket any problem is Deltas not mine.

ISTBC but I don't think you can combine a DL cash booking with a VS reward booking on the same PNR.

A 3'36" layover in ATL will almost certainly be more than enough but it would be prudent to have a plan B in case your flight from SRQ is cancelled. Getting stranded in a small regional airport with only a few flights would be pretty stressful. Does the next flight still leave you enough time to connect?

I recently did LHR - Atlanta - New Orleans - Atlanta - Heathrow using full rewards for the VS sectors & cash for the DL sectors, all on the one (VS issued) PNR. I just called FC and booked over the phone.

Thanks for that input gumshoe and Vegascrazy.
I phoned FC again.

Seems my Welsh lady at FC was wrong this morning, (even after asking her supervisor).
After a couple more 'false starts' with a very helpful lady from Barbados who then transferred me to Upper Class to book a combi -fare - We finally got the booking going in the direction we needed!

Another hiccup whilst we got the date corrected, and then we identified that, in fact it was not a combi-fare (out miles/return paid).
So, all was going well until she went away to get me the best price for the internal flight, which online was £212 for 'Delta First' - her best price was £637! (each)
I eventually settled for economy at £137 for this 90 minute flight just to get it on one PNR.
So its all on one ticket which reassures me in case SRQ-ATL has some massive delay.

In fact VS are seling the SRQ-ATL-MAN, on a later flight from SRQ than I booked, with a 'layover' in Atlanta of only 1 hour 4 Minutes which I think is just too tight in anyones book.

Thanks again

Your VS PNR will work on DL's manage my booking (it'll automatically switch over to a DL PNR) meaning that, if you like, you can upgrade your DL sectors to Delta Comfort+

From memory I think I paid $25 to do this per sector. You get priority boarding, bit more legroom & free drinks, I was quite impressed.

Last year I had a supposed 55 minute transfer from DL domestic to DL international. Plane was 10 minutes late to the gate yet I still managed to not be the last on board (even after stopping for a P and missing one of the trains between terminals.)

ATL is one of the US airports that doesn't require reclearing security from a domestic to an international flight.

You should be fine.

Thank you Tontybear thats very reassuring to know.
Vegascrazy - I can select the Delta seats and it actually shows 'upgrade to Comfort+' but then that pop-up vanishes before I can select. Went into my Delta account but nothing more in there showing how to upgrade.
$25 sounds a bargain!
I will have to play around a bit more with this.
