Given the uptake of ex-DUB fares on V-Flyer, I can't help thinking that V-Flyer has contributed to this. 
I make my first contribution to this on Thursday .would not surprise me if we have as I have spread the word through friends and workmates
I wouldn't be surprised if to find v-flyers responsible for a part of that increase. I've told lots of people about the ex-EU trick and cited DUB as a current favourite.

As much as we've made our contribution, it's more likely that the far larger number of BA travellers (perhaps doing a DUB-HNL TP run) in conjunction with advantages offered by the DUB pre-departure US customs that are making the airport a more desirable departure point.

A 13% increase to 13 million passengers (in first 6 months) is around 1 1/2 million journeys (jump from 11.5m to 13m) assuming people hit the airport twice that 750,000 individual passengers.
Now some of that may be down to people doing ex-EU but it will be very small in the scheme of things - remember we tend to think that everyone is doing ex-DUBs when in fact it's still quite rare as are the numbers of BA people doing TP runs to exotic lands . The bulk of the numbers are arising from the improvement in the RoI economy.
Also Aer John has treated his beloved mother to a couple of flights this year so that's part of the increase!

According to Virgin's 2015 Annual report VS carried 5.9 Million passengers in the year.
We will have to wait until 2016's report to know for sure but if it took VS all year to fly 5.9 million passengers in 2015 it seems very unlikely that any reasonable portion of the additional 1.5 million passengers originating from DUB in the first 6 months would have been handled by the Virgin network unless there was a compensating reduction in the number of passengers starting in London/Manchester/Glasgow and that seems unlikely.

She also forked out for her own flights to SA from there and also has a trip booked later on this year with ......
....... Ryanair!!
To be honest the answer is yes ;) we would not have done the EX-EU flights a few weeks ago to the west coast if it wasn't for the advice and help of people on the forum.
We saved over £5000 each on UC flights to west coast
