Can I use my flying club details on a friends booking?

Hi

My friend and I are travelling in April, he does not have a flying club account, can I use my details on his booking?
Suspect not!

Depends on the purpose... you can use your miles or upgrade vouchers on his booking if you want, but sadly you cannot earn TPs or miles on his flight.

As he isn't a member, you can refer him though and grab some bonus miles after he's taken his first flight.

You can only collect miles in your own right not and not from other people even if they are on your booking.

What happens if you did put your FC number on someone else's booking?

There doesn't seem to be anything to prevent it? Knowing VS IT I always suspected they would just post the miles to the FC number on the booking and say no more about it?

Even Virgin's IT may be capable of reconciling the name of the passenger with the name of the FC account holder.

Or maybe I'm being overly generous to the hamsters.

For the reasons that Nick stipulated I wouldn't want to try it, but my suspicion stands that it would work, and you would probably have to be doing it multiple times before it flagged!

I think I tried this & at the booking page it said flying club number already in use - or something like that.
That was on a booking for 2 people - it may work if done as separate bookings
