Hi Guys,

First post so please be gentle :-)
Just wondered if you could help/ advise?

Due to fly out to Dubai this evening on the 22:30 and have been unable to get any Upper seats, as it seems sold out. So... What are the chances of getting into the lounge this evening (rocking up and paying the £55) and is it worth it if there is no full meal service?
I only ask the latter as I am travelling with my wife and two children who we will need to feed at a reasonable time before the flight.

Look forward to your thoughts.
Many Thanks
Matt

Welcome to V-Flyer!

Are you in PE? If so yes, conceivably, if it's not too busy. But it's purely down to the discretion of the receptionists. As far as I'm aware hot food is back on. Is it worth it? Many here would say yes, without a doubt, if you intend to make full use of the bar, restaurant and spa. But of course £55 could buy a very nice meal on holiday so it depends on what you consider to be worth it!

If you're in Economy, no. You could try the No.1 Lounge which you can pay to enter (or use Priority Pass).

Thanks Gumshoe! :-D Very much appreciated.

Yes we are flying in PE as UC was not available. I was just wondering if anyone in here was at the lounge today and might know of the capacity/potential this evening? Is is worth phoning ahead or is it purely on the door.

No1 is no Clubhouse ! :), but a good alternative. Although i would rather pay the money for Clubhouse than book No1 in advance, if that makes sense.

Very annoying that UC was full. :-(

TBH I'd say it was unlikely you'd get in. Between 8.00PM and 11.00 PM there are flights to JNB, JFK, DEL, HKG, DXB and LOS - all pretty popular UC flights let alone before you include the Golds travelling in PE and Y plus possible guests.

I'd either head for the #1 lounge or find somewhere in the terminal to have a family meal and save some to spend in the shops!

No DL flights that time of night though, which helps.

Just ask at the door. I suspect if you call up or ask at check in you'll just get the official line that you're not eligible for entry.

Officially no. But if it's not too busy, and entirely at the discretion of the staff on the day, you can sometimes pay to enter. Never count on it though.
