Hi guys

I purchased a big RetailTherapy order for my VS11 flight next month.

How long do the miles take to post? And do RT purchases qualify on your VS Card for the extra miles since it's Virgin Atlantic you're spending with?

TBH, since VS changed over to there current company, earning miles for pre-orders seems to have completed dried up now. I've not had any miles for the last half a dozen or so pre-orders I've placed?

I've just checked the VS website and you are supposed to earn 4 miles for £1 spent on any type of Retail Therapy order.

Also just checked my Retail Therapy online account and my FC number is in my profile :-O

Edit - Just checked my online Flying Club account in full and the last time I was awarded any miles for duty free spend was in Nov 2013, my first order on the new DFASS system was May 2014 (you can see your previous orders via the retail therapy shopping website).

Not one of the 14 pre-orders I've placed on the new system seem to have been rewarded any miles :-O

That's over 2000 miles :-(

Going have to do some chasing up here!!!

Here's an extract from my email exchange with the Retail Therapy team following my May flights:

Retail Therapy wrote: For future orders you do need to contact us upon your return with the order numbers so we can add them.


The miles were in my account within 24 hours once I'd made contact though.

Unfortunately the credit card transaction went through as "PPI VIRGIN RETAIL THER MIAMI FLO" so no double miles ;-(

Just sent an email to [email protected] listing all my order numbers with missing miles.

It's a bit daft that you have to manually get them added each time!!

I've also mentioned this to VS via Twitter so will see what they say.

No problem mitcha - wonder if you could claim "interest" for the delay????? ;-) Now to work out my commission :-D :-D

On a serious note I wonder how many miles have not been claimed following the system/supplier change over? Perhaps they're using the same hamster operating system as VS ;-)

Just a quick update on this.

I didn't really get anywhere with VS on Twitter, however, I did contact VS customer relations about this and I've received a reply from them today saying that they are now aware that miles have never been automatically credited to Flying Club accounts since VS switched over to DFASS. They are going to be addressing this issue and asked me to send any pre-order receipts directly to DFASS at [email protected] however, DFASS are only able to credit miles for any orders made within the last 6 months.

Any orders made before this time, you will need to send the receipts to VS customer relations and they should be able to credit your FC account with the miles.

You can view and download all your previous DFASS pre-order receipts by logging into your Retail Therapy shopping account (click 'My Account' at the top of Retail Therapy website then click on 'orders' to view all your previous pre-orders. If you click on each order you can then download a PDF receipt.)
