Inevitable I guess, and makes sense. DL's J product is pretty good now, and seriously worth considering if you get to use the CH too.

But yes, unless DL open their own lounge at T3 it'll put added pressure on the CH. Most if not all of the extra DL flights depart between about 1030 and 1430 so it would be very busy right up until 1400 daily.

Of course DL might believe their FFs would perceive them in a worse light for not having their own lounge at LHR when their two main competitors, AA & UA, both do, so a new DL lounge isn't out of the question.

I won't complain as I have a DL flight to ATL in December that will now allow me to use the CH!

I agree with gumshoe though, honestly this was one major point putting me off DL's other routes so this will make them more attractive to me now.

Will see how the clubhouse copes.

DL have obviously taken a decision to concentrate operations at T3 to benefit the TATL business but at the cost of complicating many of their European connections with KL and AF and longer connections with other Sky Team partners

I wonder how many Delta passengers connect to Europe through London though, Delta have quite a presence in Paris and Amsterdam providing better connections.

Tried DL several times for dummy ex-EU bookings and they all feed to AMS or CDG.

They have quite a big operation at Schipol (saw it last month) and I think there's likely enough business to support the three hubs.

interesting to see how this fits in with Clubhouse renovation hinted at earlier this year. Seems the additional capacity will be needed sooner rather than later. If they close the clubhouse to get more seats in what will be the interim plan with even more displaced travellers?

I wonder if this will lead to staff who are flying on staff travel benefits being refused lounge access, has been rumoured for a while according to some crew/airport staff friends.
