No, not the prosecution of whoever cooks the beef for a crime against teeth but the trialling of a new menu on certain evening flights out of JFK between 12th and 16th September. I received notice as I took part in a survey about evening flight food earlier in the year and they are looking for anyone flying out of JFK over that period to give feedback.

The text of the email...

"Earlier this year some of our Plane Talk members were invited to feedback on Virgin Atlantic’s Upper Class food services on their evening flights from the US East Coast to the UK. VA have listened to their feedback and developed a new Upper Class menu for these routes.

This new menu will be trialing on specific evening flights from New York JFK to London Heathrow from Monday 12th September to Friday 16th September, 2016. We would love to invite those of you who are traveling on these specific flights to go on our first “menu review mission”

So no further clue from that about the nature of the newness.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it mr pjh.... Is the beef on tonight's flight overcooked, undercooked or inedible? As always, should you or any of your traveling force be caught or killed the moderators will disavow any knowledge of your actions. This message will self destruct in 5 seconds..

Any improvement to the food on ex-USA routes has to be welcome, as it's normally pretty dire.

Of course, I would not mind as much had I been able to dine in a Clubhouse before my flight... but flying out of MCO then let's not be silly! MCO is the Virgin US destination with the most flights but no Clubhouse - we all know it will never happen too.

I've also had the email though I didn't take part in an earlier survey. Maybe it was also sent to those flying out of JFK - we are, but not till October.

Or Mythos at Islands of Adventure for a decent last day late-lunch before driving to the airport :D . Mythos late lunch, followed by Delta Sky Club snacks, then maybe a starter & dessert on the plane see us through to the next day.
