Does anyone ever have a bite of the burger before a bite of a chip?

Always. I'd probably start with re-assembling the burger into it's proper order with the lettuce above the burger then munch in to it. After a few bites I'd have a chip or two.

There used to be a burger on the LGW clubhouse menu, I remember that... Never had it, usually have the brekkie. But not been flying from there for a couple of years. Perhaps never asked for... Seemed to be the only non breakfast item.

Yep, I had one once for breakfast and it was really disappointing. Nothing like the LHR CH burger at that time

I have two things to add to this debate:

Firstly, the next time I am in the Heathrow Clubhouse I am going to ask for my burger to be served on a plate!! What is this fascination with serving on slates / slabs and the chips in a basket?? :-P

Secondly, as the Gatwick Clubhouse is only open in the morning, the predominant items on the menu are breakfast items. I too have tried the burger they offered, but it was in essence a sausage sandwich. There are far nicer offerings and apart from the English Breakfast, the avocado and smoked salmon is a real treat :)
