Boeing Dreamliner Boston- Heathrow VS012

We are returning Boston-Heathrow on Thursday 27th.October. Flight No. VS012

Going out on A340 on Oct. 11th. Flight No.VS011.

We have just been notified that our aircraft on the return flight has been changed from an A340 to a Boeing Dreamliner.

However on looking at aircraft type used on various routes over the last 3 months in the Toolbox, a Dreamliner has not featured at all.

Anyone know how valid this change will be ? We are quite happy on the A340 but would like to try the Dreamliner if possible, to see if all the fuss involving cabin pressure,windows and lighting etc is justified.

We have just had to change our seats from the RH side to the LH side as we do like to sit in the row facing the partition rather than look at alot of feet !

The 787's are going on to the Boston route for the winter season, although it was announced it was from the 30th October, so it's quite possible it has been brought forward a few days now.

Dreamliners have flown to BOS before, in fact they started out on that route.

It's unlikely it'll change again although anything is possible.

I do remember the TV programme on VS a couple of years ago when their first 787 was put on the Heathrow-Boston route.

I'm not too fussed whether it's a 787 or A340. Just as long as the A330's are not being used on that route now. They were not good in my opinion. Too many seats in too many rows. If VS had continued with those I think we would have reluctantly switched to BA !

I hope VS don't change back again. Otherwise we have to try and switch rows again......and I have noticed that the return flight in UC is pretty full. Looks empty on the flight out at the moment though.

Also since our last flight with VS last year, I believe Delta are now using the UC Lounge in Departures. We intend to arrive....from our home in Hampshire....at about 10 am for the 13.30 flight. Is it that much busier now Delta passengers are there .....especially mid-morning ?

The A330s are about to be refitted to make UC the same 1-1-1 layout as the Dreamliners.

DL are indeed using T3 now but they announced this week that only their Business Class passengers will be allowed to use the Clubhouse, not their elite status pax so that should help keep the numbers down.
