Just received the following email from VS Trade:

Our Clubhouse is having a facelift

It’s been ten years since the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse at Heathrow first opened. So to keep it looking its best and make it an even more special place to be, it’s having a bit of work done.

Once the updates are complete, you’ll be able to enjoy eating in a bigger Brasserie, unwinding in a new, secluded cinema area and having a better choice of places to relax or work.

From now until March 2017, if you’re a Virgin Atlantic Upper Class customer, Flying Club Gold member or Delta One™ passenger you’re as welcome as ever to spend time in the Clubhouse. Just be aware that some areas will be closed while the work takes place.
If you’re a Delta Diamond or Platinum Medallion® member, you’re invited to use Heathrow’s No.1 Traveller Lounge. And if you’re flying into Heathrow, head to the Virgin Atlantic Revivals lounge to freshen up and enjoy a delicious breakfast before you start your day.

Thanks for bearing with us.

Thanks for sharing James, interesting that they're shifting Delta elites to the No1 lounge. Must be to keep numbers under control.

Looking forward to refreshed clubhouse- should be well sorted by July when we use it. After seeing almost every major site in Europe semi-hidden by scaffolding will be good to arrive after the work for once

That's been policy since middle of September when DL moved everything to T3 from T4.

I didn't realise that it was only 10 years old. What did they do with Uppers before it opened?

Still surprised the Gatwick lounge changeover hasn't caused much complaint. I assume its open as usual until they move, and new one built in parallel in North terminal, then switching over... However, it seems that BA took the brunt of that shift, having lost their lounge in North as well as not having the likes of the VS space in the south to develop...

The old LHR Clubhouse was in the same space as the current one is now, it was just about half the size though. Roughly from where the Brasserie is now to where the windows / video wall / library area currently are located.

When the new Clubhouse was opened it expanded into an old lounge that was next door which is now the area where the spa / showers / concierge desk are.

I called Upper Class customer services today to book in DTCI. I asked her about the clubhouse refurbishment, she read me the email they have been sent. It sates that all bar and food offerings as well as the spa will remain uninterrupted, but other areas may be out of use at various times.
