VS Gold Upgrade Voucher

Hi,

So I'm lucky, I renewed gold this year with excess of 80 tier points and got a gold upgrade voucher as a reward, however I'm getting conflicting information depending who I talk to... I understand the voucher is for 2 passengers for a round trip class upgrade eg: Y to PE or PE to UC

Now I tend to travel alone, does anyone know if the Gold reward can be used for a single passenger or does it HAVE to be used for 2 passengers (which basically means I'll never get to use it and the reward is useless to me :( )?

I asked the folks on Twitter a few months ago and was told that the second upgrade can be forfeited if you wish to upgrade a single ticket.

I also managed to use mine for four one way upgrades (same flight / same day) for me and the family this summer. There was some discussion but FC came back to say it doesn't say you can't do it ;)

When this was first introduced VS allowed me to use the 2x round-trip upgrades across four sectors. I've made good use of them since for two people but earlier this year was able to use a one-way upgrade for two people but nothing was available for the return, so two one-upgrades were lost.

I didn't push it but wish I had as I know these upgrades are not an everyday occurrence for the FC advisors so it's worth pushing for them to go the extra mile. With another set of upgrades already for this year and next....I'll be interested to know how you get along.

Well after a bit of querying and questioning and a couple of calls it appears that indeed you CAN use the FC Gold upgrade voucher, awarded at 80TP, for a single passenger and simply forfeit the second passenger - which is what I wanted - but it's a shame I lost my voucher last year due to bad FC advice at that time.... oh the miles I could have saved...
