TIP:
I have to be in Milan for work in January, and I noticed some good ex-EU deals from MXP. I was about to book a BA/VS connection via LHR, when it occurred to me that I could just book MXP-NYC direct on DL, and earn more TPs. The price is the same. I appreciate I don't get the extra BA earnings, and I get dumped back in MXP a month later (but Milan is always a pleasant place to visit)!

With the recent changes, it's 125 TPs per sector on DL direct (Z bucket) and only 100 TPs per sector on VS (Z bucket).

QUESTION(S):
Is the above right, and can anyone help with the math(s) on the mileage difference for me? I'm Au. Thanks!

Yep, you are correct on the TPs :)

As I understand it, nothing has changed with regards to earning on partners. So here's the options:

Direct, MXP->JFK on Delta One, (Z bucket). Base is 3,982, according to the blue marble mapper. 100% bonus on base miles for Au, plus 50% class of service bonus on base miles gives 9955 each way.

Therefore, 19,910 on Delta with 250 TPs

BA/VS ex-EU thingymajig. Can't do the BA earnings as I know nothing about BAEC. On VS, LHR->JFK in Upper Class (Z bucket) according to the website is 6,926 each way, add the 60% bonus for Au, which applies to base AND cabin bonus, and you get 11,081 each way.

Therefore, 22,162 on VS with 200 TPs, plus BA earnings

So it looks like more miles if you go BA/VS via LHR, but more TPs if you go direct with Delta. :)

I'd estimate about (each way) CE TP/avios earn of 40/1250 with no status, 1500 with avios with silver, 1750 gold.

Just based on ex-DUB flights of mine, so might be more for Milan.
