I think the most interesting thing about the announcement is the co-location in T2 with Delta from May 2017. With a recently opened clubhouse, I'm guessing it will move over to T2 as well considering all the LHR flights are on VS metal. They best get cracking with the buildout.

The DL move at LAX was announced back in January I think. Presumably they'll open a new SkyClub in T2 because the new Clubhouse certainly isn't big enough!

Good call nkp85uk. For some reason I thought they were in T4 but that was me just getting confused! Especially embarrassing as I'm currently in LAX (which is a Zoo!) waiting for my shuttle service to SJC.

This decision just highlights that VS should have had more faith in their product a took the
A380's. BA are still carrying more passengers to LA daily (938 v 792) and have the added advantage of saving a valued slot at Heathrow and carry mor premium passengers which is where the money's made.

Not necessarily. Business travellers value frequency of service, and VS can now offer the most flights of any airline flying London-LA.

If VS were to take up its option for A380s it would have to take all six, and unlike BA or EK it simply doesn't have the route network or year-round demand to justify them.

It's telling that hardly any A380s have been ordered in the last two years. As nice as they are, they're too big to offer the flexibility required by a small airline like VS.
