Hi all,

I know this is a long shot but I'm putting it out there for all you knowledgeable people!

I booked a flydrive through VH on Wednesday this week. LGW/MCO return with a car. I spend ages searched for reward flights and they just weren't available so I went ahead and booked.

Woke up this morning and thought I'd check the prices again, don't ask me why, and got a shock. £3700 cheaper today for the exact same flights and car. £3700!!!

Obviously I rang straight through. Not very happy bunny to be honest. Anyway I explained what had happened and the lady told me there was nothing she could do. I could cancel at loss of deposit. I asked about transferring the deposit to the new booking - she said yes, as long as I booked on a different day. A non-starter for me.

Anyway, I've gone ahead and booked the new (same) flights at the lower price because even with losing the deposit it's way cheaper, I just wondered where I stand? It seems a bit harsh to me, especially when the flight isn't until next October and the price change is just ridiculous.

Anyone got any thoughts or do I just have to suck it up?

AJC, you have done the right thing to save yourself money.

As you booked with VH the deposit won't be that much. Be thankful you didn't book via the VS site coz you wouldn't have got a penny back.

At the end of the day, we book flights, holidays etc at the price we see at the time but if they go down there is nothing that can be done. I am saying this is the nicest way to you, let's face it if the flights had gone up you wouldn't expect the airlines to ring and say you've got to cough up more cash.

Really pleased you was able to rebook at a lower price and just loose deposit . I'd be happy with that result :-)

You have to suck it up I'm afraid.

It's just one if those things.

I figured as much to be honest :-) The flights have gone down to £4500 for two return UC fares to MCO so I can't really complain.
