I posted earlier tonight about VA changing my aircraft from a 787 to a A330 on my LHR>EWR flight next July.

Initial thought was that the A330 would look and feel a bit older but I've read somewhere tonight VA are refreshing their fleet of this jets...have I read the truth or too much turkey?

Thanks

Welcome to V-Flyer Shane :)

There are already a couple of threads about the A330-330 Upper Class cabin re-config, however, none of the aircraft have been touched yet.

Here's the main thread though.

The latest info is that they start getting reconfigured in 'early 2017', but that's already been put back a couple of times so may well slip again.

Thanks for the update and links...I'll have a read.

First choice would be for VA to reinstate the 787 on the trip but if the A330 does stay in play be great to see if with the update.

Thanks

Quick UD

The seat map for my flight shows the A330-300 WITH THE 1-1-1 CONFIGURATION so assume this means theyll have it complete by next July

As this point, there's still no guarantees sorry as I think everyone's A333 seat map is showing that row blocked off. Mine is for my MAN>JFK A333 flights in May as no-one yet knows how long it's going to take to refit each A333.

Until all the A330's are updated, I would imagine VS are blocking that row of J seats on all A330 flights (even for the old config A/C) in case a new config A333 gets put on a route, otherwise it would mean VS would be massively over-selling J seats and there would be no-where to accommodate that extra row of pax.

An A333 is also moving permanently up to Manchester at some point as well to accommodate the new JFK/BOS/SFO flights VS are running from MAN next year. There's 1 new B789 due in 2017 (March, I think) which I presume will used to replace that moved A330 A/C at LHR.

Thanks

Either way I'm just looking forward to be going back to NYC and first time with VA UC...in the grand scheme of things it doesn't matter what aircraft it is...I'm still going UC and can't wait to see how it compares
