Frazzled Greetings From The LHR Clubhouse

I never ever want to see an overhead matrix sign with "40" (clearly aspirational) again. From north of Luton to the M4 they reigned supreme doubling our journey time from 1.5 to 3 hours.

And the next the DTCI barrier wouldn't lift, so directed through the normal check in and lift up to a very quiet check in and reasonably busy Clubhouse, where the library and the stairs to the loft are sealed off. Restorative Lanson and Redhead to hand, I have managed a head polish but our extended time on the M25 have denied MrsPJH the same for her nails. Time to breathe out...

We now always travel the night before in case of traffic problems even though we only live 40 miles from LGW and 35 from LHR.

Most important is a spoonful or two of preventive medicine once we get to the airport hotel.

Good strategy, and one we always adopt for LGW. Couldn't do it for this because of family commitments, which also pushed out the time for which I'd booked the taxi. I usually allow 2 hours, and this was the first time in four recent occasions that a drive to LHR took more than 90 mins.

Anyhow, here at The Broome in NYC after a great flight and smooth journey to SoHo from JFK.

Glad you made it Paul, it took No1 Son 5 hours yesterday from Gloucester to our house with the weather and traffic, which normally takes 2 1/2 hours . Its getting very foggy and frosty here now you will be pleased to know, can just about see down the road.
