By chance I noticed that my MAN-LAS/LAS-MAN reward flights in August has been moved two days from a Tuesday to a Thursday.

Looking at dummy bookings it appears there are now no vegas flights from manchester on a tuesday. As a side note from what I could tell the remaining MAN-LAS flights are now using the 747 instead of A330.

I did not receive any notification from virgin which I have to say is very poor. Because of leave restrictions I can't move to the changed dates. What if I had not noticed ! Come on virgin there is no excuse for this in the days of electronic communications you manage to get all your sale emails through !

I spoke to Tom at flying club he did a wonderful job and we are now flying LHR-LAX on the original dates. I'm happy about this as it means we will get to try the club house and I doubt we would have got this on reward availability.

Just thought I would share for anyone doing man to las in August.

That change will mess up some Stag/Hen party plans! The MAN-LAS route is notorious for them as the outbound flight to LAS was on a Thursday & the inbound on the Tuesday - so ideal for a long-weekend in Sin City.

I am sure the cabin crew based at MAN won't be moaning too much though, as it will remove a certain element of passengers from the flights. The drinks service may even last longer than 4hrs as a result.

The same thing happened to me on a Cancun , sadly with not such a happy outcome as yours .
My return flight on a Thursday from Cancun in May has been cancelled and I've been automatically rebooked onto the Tuesday return flight two days earlier ( all this without any notification from virgin, I only found out because I checked my booking after seeing a similar post to yours) .
Unfortunately my call to Mark at flying club was less than stellar customer service , he seemed totally disinterested in the fact that I would miss the wedding that I was flying out there to attend if I flew back on the Tuesday ( the wedding was on the Wednesday ), and the only option he could offer me was to fly back on my original date via Cuba , really ? The ONLY option I queried, "what about flying back via the states" I asked -hmmm yes Mark had to concede there are lots of options to do that .
At this point I ended the call as Mark was obviously not in any mood to assist me in any shape or form .
I will try again tommorrow in the hopes of speaking to someone who actually does care about customer service , before I cancel the flights all togeather - lose the £2000 I have already paid on a non returnable rate to the hotel , plus train fares to and from London , hotel in London night before the flight etc, and miss my friends long awaited for wedding .
Virgin most decidedly not my favourite company at the moment

Ahh yes. VS quietly dropped the third weekly 'peak' LAS rotation last month. I'm pretty sure with it goes the 3rd weekly rotation to BGI and BOS during the same period. Interestingly, during September increases to 4x weekly to LAS.

So MAN will have 5 aircraft based during the Summer - 3x A330s and 2x 744s to operate the routes to JFK, ATL, SFO, BOS, BGI, MCO and LAS.
