Could anyone tell me what has happened to the 'Chat' option on the website? Just looking at my upcoming flight details and see that my return flight number, time and aircraft have completely changed. Cannot get through on the phone so thought I would try chat. Would these changes make me eligible for a free change? Thanks.

The "Chat" option used to come up only when you were making a booking and dithering about.

You did also used to get the chat option from within existing bookings, which I'd used a few times as well.

All the online chat seems to have been removed now though unfortunately.

Indeed, online chat went with the new website.

I might have to apply the term 'enhancement' to VS soon!

Sorry but you are incorrect here. I have seen the chat option appear numerous times with the new website. As with the old one, it was just a case of it appearing at the right time, presumably when an advisor was free.

I have never had the chat on the new website, and that's despite deliberately dithering during the booking process, whether logged in to my account or not. If it has not been disabled, then it is nowhere near as proactive as it used to be. For me.

I dithered around a lot on the booking pages of the old website when I was trying to work out how to use miles to get to New Orleans, and got no invitations to chat. This was a shame as the one time it worked for me a couple of years ago it worked really well...

I'm fairly sure I saw the chat option pop up last week when checking an existing booking

I can confirm I have also had the chat option pop up a number of times since the website changed. I had it most recently over the weekend, but I can't remember if I was viewing my existing booking or looking at making a new one.

It all feels a bit like chasing a sprite. Perhaps if we all clap our hands...?

Try doing a dummy booking that includes 1 or more infants. It tells you that you can't make a booking with a child under 2 using the website and usually offers chat as a solution, although sometimes it just offers the phone number.
It's the best method I've found anyway.

It does rather. I have found the box pops up for all sorts of different reasons, which also includes the time of day spent looking at the website.
