It was always the case that you were entitled to miles and underlying tier points for a revenue ticket, which you might have upgraded to G. So, say paid for S class ticket, upgrade to G with miles etc, still get miles/tier for the S.

You had to ask, usually over the link on the webpage, as the system could'nt do it automatically. (Because of... no reason at all)

Anyone know if this has changed? Or perhaps its just that customer service don't bother until you've asked at least 3 times! (I'm only on twice!)

Thanks

Hasn't changed that I know of. I often upgrade S and W fares to G and it always breaks the booking because the system looks at the class flown (G) and knows that it doesn't earn miles etc so does not credit. It always requires manual chasing in my experience.

All the times I have chased, it has been sorted on the spot. Haven't had to chase more than once IIRC.

Last time I spoke to Flying Club about manually requesting the revenue part of the booking after doing a miles upgrade back in January, I was also told that due to system changes, only supervisors have to ability to do this now as well.

Mine only took a few days to appear after I requested them though.
