Travelling Delta economy with VS Au status

Just want to check a few things as we have never travelled Delta economy before but are flying to JFK in a couple of weeks.

Can we check in at the Delta first / business class desks at LHR and will our bags be priority tagged so they (should be) offloaded with the Delta One bags?

The answer to both questions is yes. You should get a yellow sky priority label.

I’m Flying Club Gold here and am flying in DL Comfort+ today as part of a VS Premium Economy TATL flight and if you use the Delta app, when you do online check-in, it shows you as ‘Sky Priority’ and as having ‘Gold Medallion’ status.

Your Delta PNR should already show your status as ‘Sky Priority’ once you enter your FC AU number.

I’ll be honest the fact it shows as Gold Medallion really annoys me. It doesn’t inspire any level of loyalty that DL have in VS. AU is top tier for VS so why are they not given same priority in delta? Your chance of an upgrade to anything other than comfort+ is slim to nil given then numbers who have gold medallion with delta.

Sorry, forgot to ask something else ..... can we still use the private security channel at LHR?

Yes you can. If the door doesn't open with your boarding pass just hit the buzzer and someone will let you through
