Couple of questions

Do the screens in the arms affect the width of the seat in PE like they do in Economy?

And at what point do they release them? Is it a check in only?

20 A & C upstairs are free to reserve at the minute but H & K are blocked off and theres three of us, I was thinking of putting wife and son in A & C and then hoping to get H for myself? (i'm 6'7...)

alternatively do you think they would let all three of us have 3 downstairs in row 14 if we are there early enough?

Not sure whether its different for each individual flight, but after I booked our trip to Vegas, for our return PE back to MAN, I went straight on to seat selection and all seats were available for me, so it could possibly be that someone else has already selected 20 H/K upstairs on your flight? Might be worthwhile giving VA a call or drop onto webchat as they can check for you there and then.

It may also be some sort of error with the website too though as I've been having issues on the site myself over the past couple of weeks as when I log in, if I want to change the seats I've selected, it won't let me select any others that are 'Available' in the same cabin, claiming im trying to select a seat outside of the cabin I'm booked into.

There's very little noticeable difference between the width of the bulk-head Premium seats compared to others. The screen is in-between the seats near the cabin floor.

VS don't open bulk-head rows in Premium Economy before the flight and you can only request them at the airport.

That sounds like you have booked the flight via Delta rather than VS? If so you should be able to go to the Delta website and select seats as normal there rather than via the VS online booking. You can use the VS booking ref to access the booking on the DL website.

In fairness Mitchja, thats probably where our booking is a little confusing.

We're booked through V-Hols, 4 flights in total (2 connections one at SFO then one at LAX before getting to Vegas) all with DL Codes. VS Metal going MAN to SFO and LAS to MAN, DL for the two domestic US flights, however after booking we pretty much selected seats straight away for the LAS-MAN leg through the Virgin Atlantic website with no issues at all, and was able to make amendments to our selections again through VA site right up until a couple of weeks ago. Obviously the two DL flights we've gone and selected seats through Delta. The only flight I'm yet to sort is the MAN to SFO leg, as with me being a measly Red Tier Flying Club member and the MAN-SFO leg being in economy, we can only select free of charge 72 hours in advance, so I'm continuously logging on on a daily basis to check the seat map, as we want to make sure we bag a window pair for that flight. If it looks like it'll be too much of a risk to leave it that close to departure over the next few weeks as the seat map fills, I'll more than likely just pay the extra £60 for us to select before T-72.
