Have a great time in St Lucia. Where are you staying?

I had been prevaricating about a trip there in October, and had to think so hard about the price that I gave up on the idea, not least as we also want to do a Northern Lights and New Orleans trip in the next year or so. Then up popped the “right” fare to New Orleans. As my late mother in law used to say, “one door closes...”

My flights ticketed and everything looks in order, so £820 return Delta One to FLL is probably my new lowest price record! We were holding out for DXB 'G' tickets but will happily spend a week in Florida instead.

The only issue is that I get an error message when trying to add our Flying Club numbers to the booking on the Delta MMB page (but it's worked fine on the VS MMB page). I called Delta and they weren't interested in offering any help at all and basically said it's nothing to do with them and I have to speak with Virgin since they are Virgin tickets (even though all flights are on DL metal). Hopefully the FC numbers will still be linked properly via VS.

I managed to bag AUS for £735, and it has been ticketed! What's even better is it's VS metal both ways, out to ATL and back from JFK....Probably the lowest I'll ever pay for a non-miles UC fare.

I must admit, I've never really thought about going to Austin, but that's the great thing about these flash sales, sometimes you discover new and wonderful places that you may have otherwise never visited.

Resurrecting this thread to add [*warning Daily Mail content involved!] a TR from a "journalist" who recently travelled Delta First to the US on the A330-200.

We stayed at Sandals and had a wonderful time. Just wondering where to go in Oct/Nov ourselves. As I sat under the St Lucian sun I did note that our previous few jaunts have been to "cold" destinations. I need some sunshine and Cornwall just doesn't supply enough.

Have a lovely time in New Orleans. The Northern Lights trip is something I hope we see pics of on here when it happens.

Ted shows a distinct lack of smugness and is far too reasonable which no doubt will mean his days at the DM will be numbered.

Not as bad as some of the DM reviews though!

Just a heads up that there are some decent UC £1663 and BA Club £1479 fares to SFO on selected days (Tues - Weds) departing LHR through Jan-March, they are showing up on ITA and double checked through the VS App and are avaliable.
Thanks

I blagged one of these £1714 - thanks to MBNA being a pain - I ended up having to call the call centre and the guy in Swansea couldn't believe there was a west coast fare that low!
