Just another vote for the Palazzo, it's remarkable what you get for the price. My OH couldn't believe it when he saw the room! We had a great stay there.

Ref - Saturday night only stay - may be worth (if you have an Amex platinum) trying the Fine hotels for Bellagio, it used to be a VERY good deal. On last trip - each room got $100 in resturaurant credit per room, a guaranteed upgrade, and 2 breakfasts per day (*which was actually 2 buffet comps, or $60 in the cafe daily). They also hadn't cottoned onto fact that if you book single nights and move room using the 4pm checkout guaranteed to the wifes card that you ended up with $100 in credit per night in resturants, making them nearly pay you to stay. I have no idea on the fine hotels deals this year, but in previous years it was a REALLY good deal, and so good that we generally stayed on it every trip in Vegas.

Also, look at Wynn - not Encore - lovely rooms, and can be had if you join their "club" online via their website for ~$125/night including a buffet comp for breakfast for 2 from time to time. Like Palazzo (next door) it isn't central, but the pool is lovely, it's opposite the mall, Treasure Island, and next to Palazzo... but it does have a public bus stop nearby to avoid the walking if you need to.

We've stayed all over Vegas, and have the Cosmo booked for our honeymoon in August, and are slumming it over Easter in the Flamingo. We realised we spent so little time in the actual rooms that we would rather try and use the money for nicer restaurants or better cabins for the flights.

Many years ago when I was back packing around the US I even stayed in an unbelievably shady hostel for something like $8 for the night. Suffice to say I just locked up my bag and stayed out all night until my onwards bus the next day.

I've just received a very informative email from the Concierge at Mandarin Oriental LAS.

The transition to Waldorf Astoria is confirmed for midnight on 31 August 2018.

It appears that all the staff have been retained by the new management.

Thanks desirous for your comments very beneficial,

It virtually does rely on what you want from a hotel, and where you need to be if you don't think being of the south quit of the trip, with strolling concerned, then Lake Tahoe Vacation is the best.
