Hi all looking for some advice, were flying out to Orlando 28th May next year. I'm able to book our seats next week and looking for advice where best to sit, were a family of 7 traveling this time , we've always sat in premium but unfortunately this time due to 5 adults in our party way to expensive to upgrade. Any advice would be apreaciated, I'm hearing economy delight is now a option.

Economy Delight is what used to be called extra legroom seats but also comes with Premium check-in and priority boarding. Definitely worth it if you value the additional legroom.

The problem, for you, is that all the Economy Delight seats on the 747 are in rows of 3 by the windows so the 7th person will be on their own unless you take a gamble and buy, say, 39ABC, 40AC and 41AC and hope no-one else wants 40B and 41B. If you were going in January you’d be almost certain to get away with it but around May half term it’s a big risk.

Otherwise, for 7 of you, you’re probably best off with a row of 3 by the window and a row of 4 in the middle. Just bear in mind the further forward you are the more likely you are to get your first choice of meal, and you’ll be off the plane quicker.

Sounds like you're flying economy, if so and you're booking seats I'd head for the Bubble (economy section upstairs.) It's much quieter, the crew and toilet to passenger ratio is superior, a bit more space and rows 79ABC and 80HJK have guilt free full recline.

Just to point out that Economy Classic bookings don't include seat selection in the 747 Upper Deck. I imagine you'd still have to pay a fee to sit up there!

I had no idea that changed when they brought in the Classic/Delight. So in effect they now place the same value on a standard legroom seat in the Bubble as they do an extra legroom seat downstairs, doesn't seem right.

It may not seem right, but it is how things are. The standard economy seats upstairs in the Bubble are very popular and many people will happily pay the fee to bag seats upstairs. You only have to read certain theme park based forums that cover Florida to see the value people put on seats upstairs.

Do remember that the Bubble has a better crew-passenger ratio than downstairs, it's a quieter cabin and you are some of the first people off the plane in Orlando - which can save you a considerable amount of time in immigration.

I found that out when I called them a few months ago to change our seats after our initial flight got cancelled as we weren't happy with the new seats that had automatically been allocated. They waived the charge to sit in the Bubble on this occasion due to the cancellation which was good of them (and the least they could do given we had to book an extra night in a hotel).
