Returning from EWR or JFK... Does it matter in PE?

As in title I'm looking at booking a surprise trip to NY with the remainder of our miles. Currently only have enough for economy for the return leg and will use upgrade voucher to go PE.

Looking at availability i can get the later 10.30pm out of Ewr or 8.30pm from Jfk. I'm leaving towards the EWR flight to maximize time in NY and hoping a later flight could help get more sleep.

Any reason why I should choose the JFK flight instead?

Do you have access to the Clubhouse for any reason? The JFK CH is much more expansive than the EWR one, although nothing compared to LHR.

If not, then - in terms of maximizing NYC time, as you suggest, and also combating jet lag (well, it work for me in any case) - I'd opt for the 10.30 p.m. departure.

One other thing to think about is how you're getting to the airport. Depending on method of transport, and where your journey originates, each airport has its pros and cons.

Getting to EWR from Manhattan (or worse, Brooklyn) can be a nightmare traffic wise. I would always opt for EWR inbound from LHR and JFK outbound personally.

If you have CH access, JFK is much nicer. EWR is horrible box. Not a fan at all.

Thanks guys. No clubhouse access so that isn't really a factor. Haven't really looked into accommodation yet so can't really say which will be closest. We'll probably just go for the later flight.
