Hi all,
Anyone have experience of booking a Delta flight on Virgin miles within the US, for example from Atlanta to Hawaii (direct) of LAX to Hawaii?, it’s not clear, at least to me, how many miles are needed and what availability is like.

Thanks

Hello

Yes, I've booked inter-US flights on Delta using VS miles. If you've seen the chart on the VS website just remember that's per segment so it's wise to book direct flights. Depending on where you're going you can get a good deal in Delta One. You mentioned ATL so if there was a direct from ATL to Hawaii then it'd be 75,000 in Delta One/First roundtrip. I may not be answering your question so is there something more specific you'd like to know?

Thanks ILikeSoton for your reply. That seems good value in my opinion (75000 for round trip) in first. Can you remember what availability was like?

Thanks again

Now you're really testing my memory! I haven't booked award space on Delta in about a year but if I remember correctly, if you can find the cheapest award space on Delta's site that can correlate to award availability for VS FC members. I forget what that award ticket fare code was though. If you're looking at going to Hawaii I recommend checking on Hawaiian airlines for award space as well. They fly JFK to HNL direct so if you're just passing through the Continental 48 it may be more advantageous to fly into NYC but like I mentioned before, find where Delta flies direct to Hawaii preferably from the east coast. Having a connection will be a bad use of miles in my opinion.

Regardless, find the direct flights and call up the FC line to find award space. I know award space did not show up as easily on expert flyer at least the type of ticket you would need.
