I've still had nothing but did get my Horizon card today for whatever that is worth. :)

I shall probably go down the Amex gold route, but over the years with the UC rewards going up in miles it is making it difficult for me to want to put all my miles immediately into the Virgin basket.

If it’s any consolation I’ve had zilch too :) ( not even a Horizon card >-( ) . If you’ve no family members/ nearest and dearest to refer you for the gold card I’m more than willing to :) .

I've still not received my bonus miles.

I applied for a card for my son online and spoke to a colleague on the phone - all approved and the PIN arrived over two weeks ago. The card still hasn't arrived so I rang on Wednesday. The guy informed me that the card hadn't actually been ordered and it would take another 7-10 days for it to arrive.

I also messaged them in their communication centre on 14th July and am still waiting for a reply - the message says 'pending'

Hopefully all of this is due to start up problems but so far I'm not impressed.

Just got my July statement. And surprise surprise - no bonus miles, despite easily hitting the required spend target.

Looks like a call to VM’s legendary customer services is in order ...

Despite having a healthy household income and a healthy personal bank balance my retirement planning involves no “income” for a couple of years, so I suspect my “pre-approved” card may turn out to be “not approved”. :) Oh well.

Snap..... managed to get through in a few minutes. The bonus miles for spend run a month in arrears so the miles from the start period of 18th June to 18th July will not be applied until August. That's in my case anyway

Ah, well I was told (also after a relatively short time on hold) that the bonus miles post 3-5 working days after the statement date.

Let’s see what happens. I’ll be honest, I’m not optimistic given (a) I had to fight to be included in the offer in the first place and (b) VM sent me a reminder last week, saying I was “nearly there” with my required spend but not quite - when I absolutely was.

Still, maybe I’ll be pleasantly surprised ...

Annoyingly I missed an email stating I am entitled to a 45k miles bonus (15k every month for the first three if I spend £1,500). Because I missed it I won't get the first month as I didn't spend enough, but we'll make sure to run enough through the next two months to get it.

Just had my first statement, I got the initial sign-up bonus as well but no sign of the first lot (of 3) 6,000 miles promised even though I made the spending target. I see someone else was told that they are deposited a month in arrears so I'll hang on until next month before I chase it!

Aren’t both 15K, so maybe you got the signup and the bonus is still to come?

I understood from bloggers this is a manual process hence the month in arrears.

I think the best approach is the card is right for you or it isn’t. What may or may not have been offered to others is irrelevant.

Ah... good point, I just assumed they would appear on my August statement which I received today.

I just rechecked the offer details, date periods

There are three qualifying periods. The first qualifying period starts on 18 June 2018 and continues until the end of your first full statement period after that date. The second and third qualifying periods last for your next two full statement periods respectively. For example, if your credit card statement date is the seventh of the month your qualifying periods are:

First qualifying period 18 June 2018 to 6 August 2018
Second qualifying period 7 August 2018 to 6 September 2018
Third qualifying period 7 September 2018 to 6 October 2018

The required spend is shown in your personalised communication. In order to work out whether you have spent the required spend in a qualifying period, we will take the amount of card purchases made by you and your additional cardholder(s) and deduct any refunds you have received in the same qualifying period. Balance transfers, money transfers, cash advances (including cash based transactions such as gambling), any spending in excess of your credit limit and returned card purchases are not included in the required spend.
Is there anything else I need to do to receive the bonus Flying Club miles?

You must link your Flying Club Number to your Virgin Atlantic Credit Card account before 31 March 2019. We will need your Flying Club Number to award the bonus Flying Club miles as well as your standard miles.
If you have not added your Flying Club number to your Virgin Atlantic Credit Card you can do so by calling 0800 085 3210 or sending a secure message in Online Service.

When will I receive my bonus Flying Club miles?
The bonus Flying Club miles will be shown on your next credit card statement and will be transferred to your Flying Club account within five working days after that.
If you close your Virgin Atlantic Credit Card before the bonus Flying Club miles appear on your credit card statement, you will not be eligible to receive them.
It is not possible to share the bonus Flying Club miles with anyone else. No cash alternative is available.

Well I activated the card, the website, as someone said, really feels like amateur hour, the blurb I received said "Don't forget, we will not send you a PIN by post" - of course I got a PIN in the post, as did my wife. I don't like the fact that the numbers on the card are not the embossed ones that stand out and are just in small font on the back of the card, and tbh the card is a little dull looking. Oh well, let's see if they bother to send me any offers. I also have a secure message in with them as I accidentally mistyped my customer id on registration, noticed just as I pressed enter (my fault I know) and want to change it, so will see how long it takes them to reply.

I queried why no bonus having passed the target with my first statement and was told no bonus miles as my statement was before the 3rd July when the bonus started! - so bloody annoyed didnt explain that did they! Have got the extra miles with my 2nd statement (got an email congratulating me) but apparently they will not be added till later this month - usual VS sod up, doesn't bode well .

My offer was for 15k bonus miles per month, but despite spending over the £1500 per month limit since the offer started on 6th June I've received no bonus miles so far. I've submitted a secure message, so we'll see what they say!

Secure messages seem to be a bit hit and miss as to if and when you get a response and then if there’s avtually any messages to view in your account. I received three emails at the weekend informing me they’d sent me a secure message however on logging in there are no messages..... ho hum

Exactly the same here, 2 "you have mail" messages and nothing at all when I login.
