Flying UC to Las Vegas on Saturday, and I want to take a poster to a conference there; the poster is roughly A1 landscape (actually the width is around 34") and it wont fit (rolled up in a cardboard tube) in my suitcase.

Will Virgin let me hand-carry a cardboard tube approximately ~32"-34" long (diameter of the tube about 4")? I'm travelling in UC both ways (buts it outbound that's critical!).

Need to decide if I can do this this morning (flying on Saturday).
Thanks as always.

Yup, I’ve take a poster tube on Virgin, BA and others, to many conferences over the years..

I’ve always fretted about it on the way to the airport, given it obviously doesn’t comply with the cabin baggage guidance for any airline, but it’s always been fine. As if it’s just an accepted thing.
Certainly it always fits into overhead lockers, at the back of the locker, where the lockers tapers down at the back, thus allowing normal bags still to be placed in front of it. So perhaps that’s why.

you should have no worries there, on a trip back to lgw from mco last month in upper, i carried aboard a rather bulky painting from disney art shop, the crew happily stowed it for me and returned it when we arrived in the uk, not sure where they stowed it but was far too large for any overhead bin, well done virgin !

Almost certainly one of the wardrobes. Decent vertical storage space at the front and rear of the UC cabins. Usually used to crew baggage, uniforms and passenger jackets.
