Just been announced as follows.

https://www.virginatlantic.com/gb/en/fl ... icket.html

“Greetings to you, intrepid globetrotters, occasional escapers and discerning jet-setters! We have hidden 10 (just 10, mind you, and no more) Premium Golden Ticket fares in our ordinary flight search. All for the splendiferous price of £1 plus taxes, fees, charges and carrier imposed surcharges

Imagine it – a Premium ticket might be yours for just a fraction of its usual price!

These Golden Ticket fares could be anywhere – on any dates to any destination. All you need to do is carry out a flight search in the normal way and see if you’re the lucky person to find the golden ticket fare. Remember you'll need to try the correct outbound and inbound departure dates to find it.

Many wonderful surprises await in Premium, including a glass of fizz-whizzing bubbly as you board, an extra comfy leather seat and delicious eatables served on china crockery with proper cutlery.

Good luck to you all, and happy hunting!”

Hi peeps :-) Never posted here before although I do often have a nosey! I managed to grab two of the golden tickets, I'm absolutely over the moon. MAN to BOS first week of July. When I checked back later the same flights were coming up as £1683 so bit of a bargain. Just crossing my fingers and toes that work will sign off my holiday request when I get back into the office on Wednesday haha!

Thanks Col! Yep definately a northerner - I'm in Wrexham but work in Manchester so have the pleasure of driving past the airport every morning without actually going anywhere (depressing!). I actually managed to use my flying miles to cover the taxes for me and my mate on the golden tickets as we weren't planning on booking a holiday just yet - probably not the most efficient use of them but I find they're not always easy to use on flights due to the limited availability etc. Anyway that coupled with a lot of unexpected bills this month meant it's saved shelling out any actual cash whatsoever for the flights so I'm happy. We haven't even had to pay the £1 for the tickets, all covered by the miles!

Actually quick update on my last post - I thought it was odd that the website allowed me to use my miles to cover the taxes (it definately did as it brought the overall total down to zero and my credit card wasn't charged anything), so I checked with customer services and they agreed and said also it was a bit of a waste of miles anyway so they've popped them back onto my flying miles account for me :-D

Ha! I have the similar pleasure of working 3 days a week at Gatwick Airport and staying in a hotel there, but never even setting foot inside the airport itself! Equally depressing!

Fantastic use of your miles if that's what you wanted to use them for! Its not often you get a free lunch and it sounds like you did so well done! How many did you have to use to get it totally for free?

Have you done Boston before?

Never done Boston before but have always wanted to go, so I'm really thrilled to get this! I'm a Vegas girl at heart, been there five times. I've also done New York a couple of times and Orlando but I get the feeling I can't compete with some of the v-flyers on here haha!

It suggests you need to have searched for the correct outbound and inbound legs. So you need to correctly guess the departure airport, arrival airport, departure date and duration of stay.

Surely the odds on finding one of these is minimal? How did the forum members above get so lucky so quickly on the previous round?

There are a number of Y seats in march to MIA that come in at about £277.00 which looking at the fare breakdown shows the fare as £6.50, the rest of the cost is made up of "taxes" :D so not much more that the golden tickets at £1.00
