Hi

I have a reward voucher that is about to expire (literally any day!) and I have not had chance to use it. (I am tied to school holidays ) Is it possible to book a reward flight using the reward voucher and then change the flight dates? i.e. I book a reward flight tomorrow for any date and use my voucher before it expires then when the actual dates I want appear in the next few weeks I then call and change to those? Is this possible with just a change fee?

Should be!!

I would book the “fake” booking for about 8-9 months from now just to give plenty of headroom

you would have to pay any difference in proper government taxes and the VS surcharges as well as any additional miles if your booking was on off peak and you changed it to peak dates,

Just bringing this up again to see if anyone has successfully booked a random trip because their voucher is expiring and then subsequently changed dates/location after the expiry and if the voucher upgrade remains?

I booked a return flight LHR-MIA to keep my voucher ( booked outbound and then a return next day )and then changed the route to LGW-MCO amending the dates as well when the reward seats became available. I had to pay a change fee but the taxes were less so I got a refund on those!!

I have done this in the past as well, but you can't reschedule to more than 330 days past the voucher expiry, but you can change as many times as you like. £30 each time...
