I don’t recall getting an email to say my application had been received. I did get one to say I had been approved even though they say they don’t send emails and you need to check your status via your account (the emails actually say that there has been a change in status)
You should check the status in your TTP account.
I just fished back through my emails from last year when I applied for GE. I got two from Border Force (for the UK checks). One was a receipt for my payment of the fee & the second with my UK access code on when I'd passed the UK checks. I then had two emails from US CBP - both came from email address
[email protected] & were entitled "TTP Application Status Change". The first came when I'd been conditionally approved & they were inviting me to schedule an interview. The second came right after my interview at the US Embassy in London (I'd not even left the Embassy grounds) saying I'd been approved - which I already knew as the lady interviewing me said she was approving me.
As tontybear says, above, there was no email from CBP saying they'd received my application - but given that you have to apply online & pay at the same time, you sort of know the application has been received when they take the payment.
As an aside, my ESTA has less than 4 weeks left on it now & I know at one time CBP did send out reminder emails telling you your ESTA was due for expiry. Maybe the system that sends these automated emails has a fault & is a victim of the US shutdown? Either way I'm not bothered as my ESTA is good for my trip in 3 weeks time.
