After a night in the Premier Inn at terminal 4. Only complaint no bedside clock.
Car booked for 6.15 arrived 15 min early. I got a text about half an hour before to say he was on his way including name and photo of the driver and a tracking app. Very efficient.
The driver seemed to mis-understand DTCI not open till 6.30 and was trying to get us there asap
We arrived and gained access about 6.25 with one car in front.
Very smooth transition through security and up to the lounge.
Cappuccino just served and awaiting my eggs benedict.
Not long here as flight is 9.25 VS103 to Atlanta.

Morning Dick D

Hope you have a great flight to Atlanta and then onto your final destination and the weather is a lot kinder than it’s been here over the past week as Storm Eric approaches us today.

I’ve noticed a few hotels have started to take away bedside clocks, Disnay and some Hilton’s. A bit strange although have been caught once by the previous occupant setting an alarm for 2am. :-D That will only happen once.

Enjoy your trip

David.

Presumably because the vast majority of guests now have a mobile phone with an alarm.

I hope you had a good flight and a good time in the Clubhouse.

Which taxi company did you use?

I have noticed with Hilton that it seems to take them AGES to change the clocks over after the change to BST or GMT!

Hopefully you're in the air towards Ireland by now full of CH breakfast and some welcome aboard drinkies ….. enjoy your trip!

While Gumshoe is quite right I'm still expecting to see a mobile phone dock/charging pad integrated with a bedside tea/coffee machine somewhere on route 66 this summer as a couple of the motels are into the retro/modern combination ….. though last year I got a thoroughly retro one where the in room fridge and carpets were seriously 60's vintage (so earplugs and slippers essential) :-)

Looks like you are having a good flight and hope Atlanta isn't too busy. We went through last Monday from the VS109 and, whilst Immigration Hall was very busy we were through with GE in 5 minutes. Money very well spent as we managed to change our 2nd flight for one 2.5 hours earlier.

You'll be in the air now, but I hope you had a great time in the CH and have an excellent flight. Our turn on VS103 in 11 days.

We learned the same lesson on our first ever trip to NYC where the room's previous occupant had set the clock radio to come on at 3am at full volume.

We had a good flight and I will report it soon.
No connections other than a shuttle bus to the domestic terminal followed by a Sky Train ride to the Marriott. Then this morning, back on the Sky Train to the car rental and drive to South Carolina.

There were no other flights at the Immigration Hall.
Kiosks were not in use and we were straight up to a desk. We were asked the purpose of our visit. We answered, 'holiday' and that was it. Photo taken and off through customs who didn't even look at us. It was our fastest clearance ever.

We used Parker Cars. It was £18.41
Since the Premier was only £31.50 it was not too much overall.
