Hi all, this is my first post on this forum. My family are taking a trip to the USA in July flying VA. Outbound we are booked in Economy Delight but on the return we managed to bag a upgrade to PE for a great price. I’ve booked us on seats 20A and 20C with our daughter directly behind us on Seat 21C. I have a few questions about the two front rows in PE In the Bubble.

Are the seats narrower than normal seats ?
Where is the Entertainment system stowed for these seats, is the system just the same as the other seats?
What about the food rest? How does that work?
In what order will we be disembarked?

Thanks in advance

Martin

Seat Width is 21in (17.5in Economy)
I recall the PE entertainment system controls being in the seat in front, screens are slightly bigger than economy
The foot rest just flips down underneath the seat in front
On the 747 they disembark the lower deck PE and UC first followed by the bubble

Sorry but what is a food rest? Not sure what you mean.

Sorry, autocorrect changed foot to food. I’m referring to the foot rest. With these been the front row seats I wasn’t sure how a foot rest would work?

Recently flew LAS-LGW in PE in the bubble!! Was amazing, lovely and quiet just a little cold with what seemed cold air coming through the ceiling not just the air vents (which I turned off) and last month flew MCO-LGW PE main cabin downstairs. Both very comfortable and good value - if you can get a good deal. Food was nice but not amazing. However, my preference would always be the bubble for the quietness and privacy. After a 8-9 hour flight, it's only a couple of extra minutes waiting to disembark from upstairs.

Hi and welcome to V Flyer

Mrs Buns and I recently returned in 14 H & K (on the lower desk, but bulkhead seats).

20 A & C are not discernable narrower than other PE seats on the 747. Yes, you cannot watch the IFE for take off and landing and it can get in the way when eating meals, but there are so many more benefits on a night flight.

Firstly, you will not have anyone reclining into your face throughout the flight. Whilst most folk are considerate, it only takes one to ramp back the seat on takeoff to create a disappointing experience. Secondly, meal service usually starts from the front so you should get first choice. Thirdly, you are first for the loo when the seat belt signs go off :D Although folks will be queuing beside your seats.

Enjoy the flight

Hello, long (Far too long!) time lurker here...But certainly hoping I can add something helpful on this:

As mentioned, the seats aren't noticeably narrower however, I would say that the seats in row 14 downstairs (14A/C & 14H/K) have considerably more leg room than the seats in row 20 upstairs.

I am just under 6 foot tall, and I can stretch my legs all the way out on the 'foot stalls' without touching the bulkhead wall when sat in row 14, where as I certainly can't do this when sat at the bulkhead upstairs.

Having said that, it is lovely and generally quieter being upstairs so that's the trade off I guess!

Enjoy :)
