Quick question... I am about 80k miles away from a million (not been doing much redeeming of late!). Does anything happen at 1m miles that I should save up for or should I go and get my ass on holiday?

Thanks!

Not to pop your bubble here... but 1m flown miles, right? Not 1m miles in your FC account...

I too am curious as to what happens. Probably not much, a letter and similar thing to the gold pack probably.

If you reach 1 million flown miles you qualify for Gold for life. 2 million FC miles will get you a stay at Necker Island ...

On the same topic, does anyone know if there is any easy way to see the total miles I've flown? We do travel a fair bit but I've never thought of keeping a running total of the miles we're actually flying.

TIA

I agree, I tend to spend my miles almost as I earn them, I like it when I have a balance of around 200k miles (as I have now) as I know that I am in a position to book reward flight when the opportunity to travel presents itself.

Its on your flying club landing page, just below where you have your milage balance.

It has Hello X, Tier Points and Mileage in 3 central box's.

Err no CommanderB what I'm looking for is my total actual miles flown not my FC miles balance, but thanks for trying to help.

Using the old website you used to be able to show your entire Flying Club history since you joined, but I don't think you can now do that now sorry? You could then just dump all the data into a spreadsheet.

I also log all my VS flights in a spreadsheet. Route, mileage, A/C type, A/C reg, seat number, IFE etc etc.

There are also a couple of websites where you can log all your flight history with as well. I use is Flightdiary.net. All my VS flight history is here (I don't log any other airlines I use though)

BELOW your current milage balance is your ACTUAL FLOWN MILES. Its on your dashboard.

Sorry but either I'm blind or stupid as there is nothing under my miles balance. Could you post a picture of what you're trying to show me ?

The actual miles you've flown on VS should be shown under your balance on the dashboard, like this.

(Hopefully the image works)

As already mentioned, you can use something like Flight Diary to track all flights you've ever taken, their mileage etc etc.

Doesn't show on mine either - just my miles balance.

The 'flown miles' is only shown on Gold member's accounts. Red and Silver just have a centred mileage balance in the third column.

Thank you. As a silver FC member your comment make perfect sense now.

That does make sense I suppose, you can only go for GFL when you are already gold... so yes.

Personally I can see flown miles as a useful statistic for everyone, but I see why its this way.

Hi folks,

Reviving an old thread as I'm hoping someone can help me with a few obscure-ish questions which I'm not sure I entirely trust the FC advisors on.

I'm a long-term Flying Club member (22 years, back to Freeway!) but for various reasons haven't been able to complete 10 consecutive years for Lifetime Gold. I'm now approaching 1M Flown Miles to reach Million Miler status and achieve Lifetime Gold that way . I should get there in the next 18-24 months.

I have a couple of questions :

- Does Flown miles also include Reward flights or only revenue tickets ? (When I phoned FC, they told me that reward seats would count towards Million Miler status but I'd life to verify that!)
- Anyone know what the mystery gift is for becoming 1 million miler ?
- What are the chances Virgin will be moving the goalposts for Lifetime Gold when FC is detached from the airline, or the various changes with AF/KLM/Delta...

Thanks in advance for any help.

Cheers

Revenue flights only, based on base miles (no bonuses) on VS operated and marketed flights

gameswolverine wrote:- Anyone know what the mystery gift is for becoming 1 million miler ?

I crossed the 1M mark at the beginning of December and still nothing, not even an email / letter. Very disappointing. It used to be some headphones in a fancy box from what I hear

No idea, but it wouldn't surprise me if they do

That is unusual. From what I have seen and heard you should have received a nice little letter and then a gift from VS marketing that changes depending on what they have laying around the office. If they are still doing those cool Journey graphs, I am sure they take a while to make.

This is the company that VS used to mock up a concept for their Million miler gifts... whether or not this is still/ever went into production is a question no-one seems to be able to answer. Ha ha ha.

I crossed the Lifetime Gold threshold a couple of weeks back.... 10 years solidly AU.... that is definitely a lot of loyalty.

What do we think that VS marketing will send me? :-P

I'd be elated with a balloon.... I didn't get a nice shiny golden one on my last birthday. It was missed :-P
