Just a heads-up anyone with a VS credit card issued by Virgin Money...

A Virgin Money credit card app is now available in the app-store :)

I've been testing the iOS version via Testflight for a month or so now and received an email today saying the test is ending and the live version will be released later today.

From the initial email regarding testing both an iOS and Android version should be available.

It's now available. Search the app store for Virgin Money credit card

Whilst its basic, it is functional. It does has FaceID / TouchID log-in for iOS.

One minor issue (which I raised during testing, but is still there) it that the SMS text verification code doesn't automatically copy correctly from the received SMS text to the app when using iOS 12 or higher so you have to manually enter it.

I’m pleased that the app has finally arrived. However having installed it I can’t help but feel a bit disappointed with it after the MBNA app. It’s the little things like having to have another username and password rather than using the online banking one and not being able to view statements on the app. I also seem to remember seeing a comment on Twitter that the app doesn’t store payment cards, does anyone know if this has changed?
I don’t want to seem like I’m moaning about the app as I am pleased that it is out now, but given the length of time it has taken to release I feel like these should be features that were part of it.

Only two annoyances so far
1 - doesn’t support Statements, just transactions and next payment amount.
2 - doesn’t allow my wife (supplimentary cardholder) to login to view her transactions, main cardholders only

I’ve just made a payment via the app and can confirm that the app does not store card details so they need to be entered each time you make a payment.
Mitchja - do you know what future plans Virgin Money have for the app?

Many thanks for the Heads Up on this James.

Whilst I know that all V-Flyers will appreciate your input and assistance, it is a shame that VM haven't officially announced the availability of the app...well, not to me anyway. :-(

To give VM the benefit ... maybe they wanted to let it "settle" before any major launch.

Thanks again

I received an email at 1pm today from Virgin Money introducing me the new app.

So I got the email a while back and haven't bothered to try installing it until now. I run an Android Mi A2 Lite with Android One/Android version 9, not rooted but Play store says it is incompatible. I get that happens - however in the Play store it has a list of every Android I have ever owned and even for the most recent ones it is not compatible. Doesn't feel right and I wondered if anyone here knew if there was something up with the Android platform, or something special? I see the rating is 2.6 which is mighty low. Ta.

So an update. Got an email today about downloading the app and it is now compatible. Very odd. The setup process was not what I expected. I expected, like my other banking apps, to sign in using my existing web signon but I had to choose the signon again. Very different to what I expected. Also selecting my date of birth was interesting and a little non-intuitive to me in that what I thought was a non-selectable year in the header was. Anyway, it's on. Also the imaginative title of the app as "Credit Card" seems a little odd!
