Morning all from a warm Gatwick and a very quiet Clubhouse
After an interesting attempt by BA to scupper this trip yesterday, we are now sitting enjoying the wonders of Gatwick’s Clubhouse and it’s fabulous staff.
Got a text around 5pm yesterday to say that my BA shuttle down to Gatwick from Edinburgh was cancelled and the (only) option was a 6pm flight to Heathrow today (Monday). That’s no going to work
We were at the Highland Show at the time, which is just a wee minutes walk from the terminal so were soon back at BA checkin to find out what’s going on.
This was the last BA flight of the day to London at 21.10.
Nothing available till tomorrow evening. “But I’ve a transatlantic flight tomorrow at 1pm” Try easyJet was the answer
So a quick dash to the easyJet desk and the last seats grabbed.
The refunds / compensation etc due still have to be sorted.
It didn’t end there though. EasyJet delayed for 1 hour resulting in getting into the Sofitel at quarter past midnight.
Woke this morning to yet another delay of 1 hour but that only means more time for this
